Baby talk

I remember so fondly some of Sister's babyish word pronunciations. "Frizabee" for Frisbee. "Poppasicle" for popsicle. "Dapes" for grapes. How she couldn't pronounce the "L" sound very well up until just last year, so she was always saying things like, "Mama, yets go to the yibrary!"

"Washing ma-cleaner" instead of washing machine is the very last thing she still says, the last vestige of her little girlhood. Is it so wrong that I don't correct her? I really hate to see it go, for her speech to at last be completely grown-up...

I love little kid talk! My son is trying so hard to say our dogs name. I melt each time he does it.

I never correct Isaac, I just love his mispronunciations. Whenever he comes back from my mother-in-laws, he loses another one, as she is CONSTANTLY correcting him. I kind of hate it.

Emily still says
Mama, I lub you!

Can you feel the lub tonight?

Oh, I know exactly what you mean. My favorite from my oldest son was: "hot kee-koo" for hot cereal! Just yesterday I asked who wanted "hot kee-koo" for breakfast and my son said, "mom, it is called hot cereal. You are talking baby talk!"

EX-CUUUU-SE ME! :)

My daughter has a good one, too. We listen to Madonna a lot on the way in to town. My daughter can't say "Madonna," so she says, "Domino." Not sure why...but I absolutely love it!!

Oh, I hate correcting my kids' cute little sayings. My littlest (almost 2) for the longest time said "aye" for yes, like she was Scottish or Irish or something. Just started saying, "uh huh" instead. I'm kind of sad. I was hoping she'd say "aye" forever. ;-)

That's so cute! It brought back memories. My oldest son used to say Helicopoptor everytime he saw a Helicopter, and Hiccleyups, whenever he had the hiccups.
