Rising fifth grader, not rising at the moment

This is how Sister intends to spend a good portion of her time now that school has let out. (Today! Finally!) Can you tell she's psyched? And do you remember when you had this kind of leisure time? I remember long afternoons and evenings spent curled up in a chair or on the porch with nothing to do but read if I wanted. Back before the days of the internet, clearly.

Happy summer, everyone!

YAY! I remember summers like it was yesterday....sleeping late, staying up late catching lightning bugs, playing hide&seek in the dark...fairs...spending the nights at friend's houses...ahhhhhh

and I DO want to come over and sit on your porch and drink a cocktail!!! We'll get together...I'll e-mail you! I don't think I still have your cell number....

Yeah, I often look at children in the summer spending time at public pools, riding their bikes or whatever and think... I totally did not fully appreciate that time off when I was young!

so so jealous. I totally remember those long drawn out summer days, getting lost in a book and just doing my own thing. Oh how I loved summer then. . . Now? It's just too dang hot!! Hope Sister has a great summer!

That's what my step daughter has been doing, because she stays with her grandmother during the day and that woman doesn't allow my SD watch TV or go on the internet.

My daughter? TV and internet, ALL.DAY.LONG.
