Just ask
Who said, "Ask and you shall receive"? Was that in the Bible? Was it out of some old movie? I don't know where it comes from, but I've always believed in it. Which is why when I put the question out there of how to make a little extra income, and this morning I get a call from the owner of a local catering company asking me to fill in for their recently departed pastry chef, I am inclined to pay attention. I had wanted to completely burn the bridge back to that line of work after leaving my last baking job, but when the Universe is offering me a solution to my problem should I accept it? Maybe. I'm going to talk to this woman on Saturday to find out more details. It might work out with a catering company, actually. No regular schedule to worry about, plenty of profit margin to spread around. Hmmm...

Sounds promising, Sugar Mama!
Luke chapter 11, verses 9 and 10.
OK, I'm officially no longer a lurker.
Great blog, by the way.
Hey, anonymous, thanks for clearing up the source of the quote. I thought it was Biblical in origin but couldn't remember.
But aren't you still a lurker if you're anonymous? I'm just sayin'.
I was going to suggest thinking of something that connected to food/baking. Only b/c I always find that when I try to step into something new with so many other things going on, it's too hard. It may or may not work out, though what a blessing to even get the phone call. So you pursue it and keep taking it as it comes. GOOD LUCK!!
i have to tell you, the same day that you and i were talking about baby blankets, i got a call from a friend who has a caterer friend that is interested in potentially selling my pies. . . how freakin' weird is that??????
Ha! Maybe someone's trying to tell us something, Pie maker...
I hope everything works out for you!
That sounds like it could be a perfect fit!
I swore I commented on this before -- good for you! I do believe things happen for a reason. :-)
Hope it works out for you!
While reading the former post, I was thinking "She should offer to make cookies and cakes and stuff for all Us mommy who can't do that to save our lives!"
Are you kidding? I would love to buy things like that to take to potlucks and school functions. Cause seriously. No one is eating what I am cooking.
Plus - you could do a lot of that out of your home?
