Too good to be true?

I've fallen off the weight loss wagon lately, indulging in Thin Mints, pork dumplings, chocolate chip cookies, and just any old thing I felt like eating. It's just easier not to think about food these days. Plus, Bean and I do at least one baking project together each week which, while it keeps her happy and busy and proud, is a real killer for me. Can't.resist.the.sweets.

I renewed my determination a couple of days ago, though, and spent all day yesterday feeling very virtuous about my eating choices--bran cereal with strawberries! Grilled chicken salad with dressing on the side! Snacks of apples and raw baby carrots! I mean, is that virtuous as hell or what? (And I wonder why I was so freakin' cranky...?)

But get this. I weighed myself this morning and was a full three pounds lighter than when I went to bed! Woo-hoo! Only 6 more pregnancy pounds to go!

(Note to readers: I know this is probably not a permanent 3-pound weight loss, but humor me, okay? I need to seize my small successes where I can this week!)

YAY!! If it was a 3 lb gain I'd say it was a fluke- but a 3lb loss is never a fluke. ;)

oh - never weigh yourself at night!!! im always heavier at the end of the day. my advice to you is to ONLY pay attention to what you weigh first thing in the morning, naked, before you've eaten a thing. and go with that. any other weight measurement (including the ones at the doctor!) just have to be ignored.
So yay on the three pound weight loss! and only six pounds to go??? sweet p is only like three months old and you've only got six pounds to go??? it took me almost 2 years to get my weight off after charlie. good for you!!!

Keep up the great work! And rub off on me....I need to get back into the swing of things. But when I was sick with the crud, it was so easy to just buy premade meals and not exercise.

I agree with weighing at the same time of the day. I've been trying to lose the 51 pounds from my second pregnancy and my son is six. (Am I the only one who gained 10 pounds when breastfeeding?) Only four (or so to go, drat those Girl Scout cookies). Also, I lose at least two on the day after that certain week each month.

Nice to meet you. Love the blog,
