Near the end

1-1/2 centimeters dilated, 39 pounds gained (so far), 2 wakings in the middle of each night to pee, and 18 more days til my due date. But I'm ready NOW.

I may feel differently in a few hours when Husband leaves town to go run the Richmond marathon. Richmond is only about a 3-hour drive from Chapel Hill, and when Husband originally sounded me out about leaving on a trip this close to my due date I thought I was okay about it. But my dreams 2 nights ago were all about me going into labor while Husband wasn't here to help me, so perhaps on some level I guess I am worried about the possibility. Still, now that my rational, daytime mind has taken over, I think I could almost welcome this if I could only get my non-pregnant body back. Tonight would be just fine, whether Husband is here for the first few hours or not. Bring on the sleep deprivation from waking every few hours to nurse a newborn! Bring on three needy, clamoring kids instead of just two! Bring on soreness, difficult labor, stitches, and blood!

I just.want.to.not.be.pregnant.

My husband left for a skiing trip out west when our son was 5 weeks old. I agreed to it while I was still pregnant - thinking no big deal. During that time, we had a snow storm here in NC and there was no snow out in Colorado.
Hang in there!

ahhh...you SO want to be done with this!! I feel for you, I really do.

When I was pregnant with our 3rd, my husband had just gone into the police academy. He left on a Monday and Evan was born that Friday...he missed the birth by 10 minutes. then, he was gone for 6 months, only coming home on the weekends..in which he had TONS of homework to do, so we never saw him anyway.

It's amazing what you can do when you HAVE to, ya know? I wish I was there to help you out! Everyone needs a girlfriend to come over and wash her dirty clothes, bloody underwear, sweep up the dog hair, and yell at the kids!!! Oh, and do the dishes too.

Good Luck...I KNOW castor oil works...I took it twice!! HA HA!!! But then so does sex...hint hint

Maybe the baby will come sooner than 18 days....but hopefully waits for daddy's return!

Yay! You are almost there! Just think time is going to fly by and soon you will be waking often with a newborn. I did a lot of walking to get labor started. It worked two out of three times for me. Hang in there!

I am sooo excited for you!

Here are midwifery tips to induce labor. Organic raspberry leaf tea (as much as you'd like) and evening primrose oil caplets, one with each meal and one... ahem... inserted inside before bed. (I wore a panty liner to catch any oily discharge) The later is to soften the cervix. My midwife had me start this two weeks before my due date and I was a day early. Which means, I guess I should have told you this a couple of weeks ago. Hmmm. Sorry if this is TMI. I swear by it though, it worked like a charm for me and doesn't involve ingesting anything icky.

Hope baby is here soon!!
