Brutal

Okay, whine going away now after sitting up there at the top of my blog page so pathetically for the last 2 weeks. This has been a hard, hard week, though, where I've just needed to keep my head down and get through it. My mother had double knee replacement surgery and I helped take care of my 2 little brothers while she was in the hospital; we helped a friend with emergency overnight childcare while she labored with her 2nd baby; I planned and held a Girl Scout meeting to plan for Sister's troop's camping trip next weekend with a rowdy Bean also in attendance; Husband left town for 4 days; and Bean was not only in a foul mood but also had trouble sleeping nearly every night that he was gone. I've literally been more exhausted than I can ever remember being. Even having 3 of my college friends over on Friday for our much-anticipated ladies' sleepover didn't really help. I mean, it was great spending time with them, but I felt half-dead and couldn't really enjoy them properly.

Things are looking up now. Husband should be arriving back home in the next hour and Bean slept through the night last night. And that's all it takes for me to be happy and okay again apparently!

Ick! As you probably remember my mom had one of her knees replaced last summer. It was horrible and very upsetting.

I don't blame you for being tired. It tired me out just reading what you've been up to. (Ever feel like you've used a witty line before? I just did.)

I'm sorry you couldn't properly enjoy your sleepover. I would have been the same.

Hope this week is so much better.

P.S. Things are finally starting to grow here!!!

I hope your mom has a fast recovery. and you should be tired after all that!

I'm glad your back, I missed you. How's the garden coming along or did I just say a bad word? ;)

Hey, Beth, I'm only back because of your electronic kick in the pants on my last post. Thanks, I needed that.

No, my garden is one of the few great things going on right now. At least, my NEW garden is. The garden at my old house is another story, but more on that later, hopefully today...

Mama D, I'd forgotten about your mother's surgery but I remember now reading about her in the hospital. Just curious--how long did it take her to get back to full mobility?

Sorry you were too tired to have fun at the sleepover. Glad to see you're back. I was getting worried. Working out in the yard has lifted my spirits a little.

Sorry. I don't often check the comments after I've made one...

Ummm. Full mobility? She used a walker with wheels for maybe a month and a half. Then a cane for another 3 weeks or so. Probably by 3 months she was close to normal again. And now almost a year later she is better than ever!
